EDSY Registration

Rick Hansen Families,

 

It is important for families to register for Edsby as RHPS will be using this platform to schedule our Parent/Teacher Interviews and Student-Led Conferences happening in November.  Parents/guardians will need to accept the invitation sent to them from Edsby and create an account in Edsby in order to, in future, schedule a time for the student led conferences/parent teacher interviews.

 

Invitations to join Edsby were sent out October 19, 2018 for families to register for Edsby.  Please check your junk mail folder if you are unable to find this invitation.

Hello Families, 

Purple Shirt Day Announcement

 

This Thursday is Spirit Day.  It is an annual occurrence where businesses, celebrities, media professionals, schools and community organizations choose to wear purple is to support and value inclusion and belonging for all.   By wearing purple tomorrow, you will be showing that you support, celebrate and respect the 2SLGBTQ+ community for who they are.

 

Thursday you have a chance to show your support and kindness for our 2SLGBTQ+ community by wearing purple.  This matters.  It shows we value all students and recognize that some may feel less visible in our community. 

 

In class, we will be discussing how all people should be appreciated and accepted for who they are. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Online Resources for Hundred Charts

A hundred chart is just full of learning potential! Here are other ideas I found online you can also do with a hundred chart.

1. Use a blank hundred chart to find a pattern with your name.
2. Use a hundred chart to practice counting coins.
3. Here’s a fun (and free) online game using a hundred chart~ Give a Dog a Bone.
4. Here’s an online interactive hundred chart where your child can find number patterns and print them out.

Practice Math Skills : PRODIGY

Hello Families, 

Today your child will come home with information which includes his/her PRODIGY.COM login information. This is a great online game and tool to help reinforce and practice math strategies and math learning! 

You and I will be able to track his/her progress along with checking to see what he or she is successful at and where he/she may need some more support. 

A few playing minutes a week will allow your child to make another connection at home, by using this fun, interactive and engaging math website.

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY!

This coming Wednesday will be our first Walk to School Wednesday of the year. 

Our school participates in one walk to school day every month on the first Wednesday of every month. 

New this year, we are going to join all of our wellness and school spirit days together and therefore have ALL activities happening on the first Wednesday of each month. 

That means that this Wednesday will be :

- Walk to School

- Spirit day "Jersey Day"

- Wellness workshop at morning recess in room 318- Meditation

- Whole school DPA at 9:15 walking outside
